The Chamber has spearheaded efforts to repair the boat ramps at Bridgeport Landing. The landing is owned by the Corps of Engineers and is leased to the City of Camden. After 30+ years of use, the landing is in dire need of repair. This landing is one of the most used in the county and is very important to the local economy. The Chamber is partnering with the County Commission and the City of Camden to raise funds to improve the landing and insure that is ready for many more years of service. The Chamber is asking any individuals or businesses that wish to donate to please get on board as well. Accounts have been set up at both Camden National Bank and Town-Country National Bank for anyone who wishes to make a donation to this worthy cause. We expect the work to be done in late summer or early fall.

The second annual event saw an increase in participants to 848 this year and an increase in tournament participants to 240 from the inaugural year's number of 204. Two weeks after the event one of the fish worth $5,000 was caught from a dock in Miller's Ferry. The event is currently being planned for April and May 2010.
